we made it to the beach

the race is done. great gig it was. last night's mountain run was a blast. 5km steep up, decline, 2 km steep up to the 8km mark and then a steep uphill 800m sprint to the finish. it was pitch black. christoph and i camped in the state park getting to bed at 530am only to be on the run again at 830am saturday with the rest of the team after a great breakfast put on by volunteers. excellent weather, great legs to today's race. lots of road kills for the team today finishing 3rd super masters and 28th overall out of 417 teams. some of the boys went swimming in the atlantic ocean after the great dinner put on by the event. party back at the motel with other teams. tomorrow we leave for guelph at 8am, hope to be back in town by 6-8pm. i am exhausted, sun burnt, legs need a quick recovery for the scotiabank marathon in seven days. the entire crew of "chariots for hire" gave it their all at this terrific venue over 24 hours with little sleep, if any, or time for recovery. great fun we had, ditto for the other thousands of runners. cheers, scott
